MY BACKGROUND

I used to work for Australian Consolidated Press for over 10 years before going freelance and worked on magazines such as Gourmet Traveller, House and Garden, Woman’s Day and Weekly as well as the New York Times, Murdoch Books. Over the years, I have also taught photography and out of this grew a demand for photographic tours. I have travelled all over the world for both work and leisure and  have teamed up with another person who has also travelled extensively and has worked and spent a lot of time in Ethiopia. He has come up with a very exciting 18 day trip taking in the highlights of Ethopia, with beautiful scenery (similiar to the Grand Canyon and Utah), extremely old churches with beautiful paintings and high priests, colourful markets, baboons etc.  We would be staying in very nice accommodation, have small groups and personal photography tutition throughout the trip. Ethiopia is one of those countries that is an exciting new destination that people are just discovering now and as there isn’t much infrastructure for easy travelling, it makes more sense to go on an organised tour with local guides who know all the best places to see and photograph.

Please check out our website www.photoadventours.com and under December photos, click on FLICKR where I have uploaded lots of photos from our previous trip.

Some of the money from the tour will be also to help the Catherine Hamlin Fistula Hospital in Addis Abba.

ADELAIDE AV FEST 2011

The bi-annual Adelaide International AV Fest will be held over the 25, 26 & 27th of March 2011. For those interested in entering, the all important closing date is the 4th February 2011. If you haven’t attended an Audio Visual exhibition, keep these dates available as this event is of very high standard & you’ll be amazed at some of the AV work presented. We also invite our International judge to prepare a Photography, Photoshop, AV tutorial, this year it will be Ron Willems from New Zealand. Some of you may have seen Ron in Victor Harbor during APSCON 2009. Ron is an outstanding guest speaker, so don’t miss out on this activity – more details for this activity will follow closer to the date. Finally, the Adelaide International AV Fest is a bi-annual event, if you miss this one you’ll have to wait until 2013!
