The Audio Visual Club of South Australia is holding its bi-annual International AV exhibition in the last week of April. Entries (137) have been received from many countries around the world. Judging will occur over three days – 28 to 29 April at Dulwich–Rose Park Uniting Church Corner Alexandra Avenue and Prescott Terrace, Rose Park.
An AV sequence is a series of mainly still photographic images combined with music, song or scripted narration to tell a story about an issue, a place, a person, an experience or a fantasy in order to convey interest, joy, sadness, concern or any other emotional reaction. Many AVs will have a collection of outstanding photographic images, others will rely more on a script or song to get the story across.
Winners will be announced at a Gala event on Sunday 30 April from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm, also at Gartrell Church Hall. Entry to this event is $5 per person. Bookings and payment can be made via Eventbrite.
Payments may also be made at the door (cash only), but those planning to attend are asked to either book through Eventbrite (preferred) or with the AV Club secretary.
So, what can you expect at the Gala afternoon?
Around 26 outstanding AV sequences covering various subjects and stories will be shown.
The afternoon's climax will be the announcement and showing of the top three placegetters.
Afternoon tea will also be served.
